• More Tacoma tenants form a union, join growing movement (knkx.org) — Tacoma tenants living in three apartment buildings near Wright Park have formed the Wright Park Tenant Union as their properties are sold to Puyallup-based BlackRock Communities NW. Residents, many of them long-term and older tenants, are pushing for limits on rent hikes and evictions during the first year of new ownership, guaranteed units for longtime renters, and clearer commitments on repairs and maintenance.
