• VIDEO: Street racers hit 107 mph in University Place, dashcam gives deputies key evidence (mynorthwest.com) — Two drivers were arrested for allegedly racing a Bugatti and a Porsche at up to 107 mph along Bridgeport Way in University Place, where the speed limit is 35. A Pierce County deputy on speed emphasis couldn't catch them, but a dashcam in one car, seized under Washington's tougher 2024 street-racing laws, provided key evidence and led to both vehicles being impounded.
   

• University Place man sentenced to prison for 95 mph wreck that killed friend (thenewstribune.com subscription) — A University Place man has been sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison for a 2023 DUI crash on Bridgeport Way that killed his passenger and left him with life-altering injuries. The judge imposed a slightly reduced sentence after weighing his medical needs and the victim's participation, while also revoking his license and ordering substance-abuse treatment.
