Bring millions of dollars back to Pierce County with Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

Help lift people out of poverty! You can help families keep the heat on during the winter, put food on the table, pay bills, and visit the doctor.
From January through April, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) helps low- and moderate-income individuals and families save money through free tax preparation. Last year, we served more than 1,250 households in Pierce County, bringing back more than $1.6 million in income tax refunds.
Trained volunteers assist with federal tax forms and file them electronically to speed the receipt of refunds. Volunteers may also provide quality review or interpretation services, or serve as greeters who welcome clients to the site.
