University Place, Wash. - The Charles Wright Academy Knowledge Bowl Team, "The Muckrakers," defeated both Lakeside School and Mercer Island in the state finals to win the Washington State 3A Knowledge Bowl Championship on Saturday, March 23 at Arlington High School in Arlington, Wash.
Knowledge Bowls are held across the state, with regional competitions leading to state championships.The CWA team defeated over 130,000 other students from around the state before taking the top prize.
Knowledge Bowl is a sport for the mind. Setup like the game show, "Jeopardy," but for team instead of individual play. Knowledge Bowl involves fast-paced thinking and teamwork. Questions are based on topics covered in high school including math, science, history, language skills, literature, music, and geography, plus current events.
