Baseball Sign-Ups At Nearly Record Pace

Patch's perennial rec columnist tells us that baseball season is off to a good start.

Kids Baseball update

The recreation department this year is very pleased with the numbers of people that have stepped up to act as coaches and assistant coaches for the Baseball program. It appears that we are on a near-record pace for participation by kids.  With 72 teams in place having 10 kids per team, we may wind up with 80 teams starting the season.

It is hoped that we can get all of our teams sponsored this year. It not only offsets our costs, it provides the individual or business sponsor recognition with a plaque, their name, or business on the uniform shirts and a letter of appreciation. You also have the satisfaction of knowing that your sponsorship supports the recreation programs of University Place. An example of a business sponsor is Lakewood Ford, who sponsored six teams, four for baseball, one for indoor soccer and one flag football.
