Building a business relationship with your customers is so very important. Take a look at just one of your customers for instance. What hobby do they have? When is their birthday? Where do they like to vacation? What have they shared with you about their family? Taking mental notes and then writing them in a file or in your contact list can help you remember your customers special day, their favorite color or their hobby. Each time you meet with this customer you are armed with information to discuss them while showing a genuine interest in their business.
