Canning at the South Tacoma Farmers Market!

One Patch blogger writes about free cooking classes at the South Tacoma Farmers Market near University Place. There's still time to catch it.

The South Tacoma Farmers Market picked up their fruits and veggies and moved closer to University Place this year!

This food centered farmers market is more than just a venue for farmers to sell their fresh picked produce. All year long free classes have been offered to teach families and individuals the joy and ease of cooking with healthy, local products.

The highlight of this season's classes was hands down the free preserving classes. All were welcome to gather in a state of the art demonstration kitchen and learn the wonders of canning and preserving. This past Sunday, interested market shoppers pickled their favorite veggies and took home the fruits of their labor.
