Goodbye Masters Program, Good Morning Vietnam
University Place Patch's skateboard blogger finished his Masters program at University of Washington Tacoma and is on his way to a new adventure on the other side of the globe.

Well, the new year is here.
Last week I turned in my final thesis. It’s official - a whole masters program dedicated to community development and skateboarding. I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people. Some of whom challenged my way of thinking and the reasoning behind the legalization of skateboarding.
I wanted to take this time to thank those who have challenged and supported me throughout my program. The responses from the Patch articles have been a huge help for my thesis project. I couldn’t have done it without those of you who have been reading my Patch blogs.

Now that my program is finished, a few of my family members have told me that it's time to grow up, get a job and start to be a bit more practical in my approach to life. However, It would appear that the practical way of life doesn't seem to fit at this point of my life. So I’m leaving for a while.
Now, I’m entering the new year with a masters degree in hand and a one-way ticket to Vietnam with my good friend Andy James. We will be buying motorcycles in Hanoi, Vietnam, and surfing and skateboarding down the coast of Vietnam, then venturing inland.

I will be blogging the whole way through and sending as many pictures back as possible. I have herd the surf is amazing over there, and there is an up-and-coming skateboard scene. You can follow us on our Facebook too ( http://www.facebook.com/motorcylesoutheastasia).
