Cellist Peggy Thorndill, Pianist Jeffry Meeks and Artist Jim Sheasley Headline UP for Art Series

The next installment of the University Place group's Spring Arts & Concert series is scheduled for 7 p.m., May 18 at the UP Civic/Library Building.

Exquisite melodies featuring renowned cello player Peggy Thorndill and pianist Jeffery Meeks will enthrall audience members at the UP for Arts Spring Arts & Concert series on Friday, May 18, at 7 p.m.

The event, held in the atrium of the UP Civic/Library Building, also features  well known Pacific Northwest water color artist Jim Sheasley.

Peggy Thorndill received a Bachelor’s in Music from Washington State University along with a Master in Fine Arts in cello from the California Institute of the Arts.  She was a member of the Singapore Symphony and is a current member of the Tacoma Symphony, Seattle String Quartet and South Sound Trio.

Jim Sheasley is an accomplished watercolor artist whose juried paintings have appeared in the Puyallup Fair Art Show, Edmonds Art show, Oregon Art Museum and the Ventura County, California Art Museum.

His diverse work includes ships and lighthouses, sea and landscapes, architecture, flowers and portraits.

Admission is $10 or free for UP for Arts members ($10 per student or $25/household).  The UP Civic/Library Building is located at 3609 Market Square (just off 36th and Bridgeport).
