CPR Sunday Offers Opportunity to Learn Basic Life-Saving Skills For Free
Students will be taught the fundamentals of CPR and then given the opportunity to practice with CPR mannequins and defibrillators.

Looking to brush up on your CPR skills?
A free community event called CPR Sunday will be held Sunday at Foss High School, 2112 S. Tyler St., in Tacoma. Anyone interested in learning basic life-saving skills is welcome to attend.
CPR Sunday is held on the second Sunday in October every year. Students are taught the fundamentals of CPR and then given the opportunity to practice with CPR mannequins and Automatic External Defibrillators (AED).

Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a Tacoma Fire Department certified CPR card.
More than 50 certified Basic Life Support instructors will be on hand for an hour and a half of classroom lecture and then an hour of hands-on training. Classes are offered at 8 and 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.

Attendees will also learn about calling 911, the new CPR guidelines, called C-A-B-D, one-rescurer adult/child/infant CPR and obstructed airway and patient assessment.
