Crime In University Place: FBI Releases New Statistics

UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA - The FBI on Monday released its latest report on crime in cities around the U.S., the "National Incident-Based Reporting System 2015." About 6,600 police departments from around the U.S. contribute statistics to report, including University Place Police.

According to the report, property crimes were the most common in 2015 with over 1,178 of those crimes ranging from credit card fraud to larceny. But among cities with a population near 32,000 that reported statistics to the FBI, University Place had fewer property crimes.

For example, Mount Vernon, with a population of 33,474, had 2,158 property crimes; Des Moines, with a population of 31,335, had 1,395 property crimes. However out in Pullman, which at 32,174 contains just 400 fewer people than University Place, had only 480 property crimes in 2015.
