"Crossfit" a new trend that could cause you serious damage. Go at your own risk

Experts who aren't trying to sell you anything say you can you can improve your health by walking for 30 minutes a day.  “experts” who are trying to sell you something say you can only improve your health by buying what they sell.  The new trend in exercise is called "crossfit” and the folks selling it claim you need extreme exercise in short bursts several times a week.  Imagine a 30-minute session that includes sprinting, rowing, jumping rope, flipping tires, weightlifting, using barbells, pull-up bars, and box jumps.  After which, I assume, someone scrapes you off the floor. This appeals to, too-little-time-in-the-day type people who find that jogging for an hour takes like, you know, an hour.  But Eric Robertson, a professor of physical therapy, has a warning for crossfitters.  Such extreme exercise can set you up for something called “rhabdomyolysis”, a nasty condition usually seen, but only rarely, in pro athletes who over exert in which muscle cells burst, flooding kidneys with dangerous, or even deadly, levels of protein.  doesn’t sound like a lot of fun. So you're probably saying to yourself: “I wonder if there's someplace I can start my kids on crossfit training at the age of three.”  yes there is such a place, in New York City, you can sign your three-year-old for a once-a-week crossfit session for only $140 a month. Because nothing says “responsible parenting” like exploding muscles.

.........and that’s the way the ball bounces.
