Destination Art - Between Sea and Sky-- Help bring fabulous art to University Place!
A gorgeous fused glass sculpture composed of 750-1,000 pieces of glass depicting the sky, forests and sea scapes of the Pacific Northwest is getting closer to being installed in the UP Civic/Library Building atrium. UP for Arts, a nonprofit 501(c)3 is spearheading a $100,000 campaign to bring this stunning suspended glass sculpture to University Place.
Created by Artist and Architect Michele Gutlove, this public art piece entitled ”Between Sea and Sky”, will be made possible thanks to the generosity of our local and regional community members. Since last fall, UP for Arts has raised nearly $80,000 in pledges and donations toward our $100,000 goal with gifts ranging from $5 to $25,000.
We need YOUR help to complete the fundraising for this incredible glass sculpture. Our goal is to install “Between Sea and Sky” by May 2015, just in time for the U.S. Open in June. Please join us in our efforts to create a dazzling destination in our city center! All donations are tax deductible& and all amounts are appreciated! Gifts of $500 or more will also be recognized on the donor wall in the atrium.
