GET OUT: Prepare To Get Spooked In University Place, Lakewood

The community's Fall Fun Day, a harvest festival and Edgar Allan Poe. Some events are tonight, even. Cue the Patch evil laugh: Muhahahahahahah.

  • Where/When: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Sat, Oct. 29 at (3631 Drexler Drive West)
  • Why Go: Join the fire department and the City of UP for a day of fun this Saturday! Rain or shine, come and enjoy the Halloween themed activities. The Fall Fun Day will feature free pumpkins for kids, pony rides/petting zoo, Halloween safety bags, free digital picture for kids in costume, food drive, bake sale (to benefit U.P. Primary PTSA), and refreshments.

  • Why Go: Grab the family and get in the Halloween spirit at this free fun filled evening event. The Community Harvest Festival will feature over a dozen games, including a cake walk, basketball shoot, miniature bowling and fishing pond. Costumes are encouraged!
  • Cost: Free.

 

  • Where/When: 7-9 p.m., tonight at the .
  • Why Go: The second in a free three-part Fall Art and Concert Series sponsored by UP for Art welcome Tim Hoban, Helen Hein and Anne Doumit Sparks. Tim Hoban will be performing "Edgar Allan Poe: The Poet's Journey." Helen Hein and Anne Doumit Sparks will be sharing their art through "Northwest Heirlooms: Folklore in Fiber." Stick around after the event for an artist reception.

  • Where/When: 6-10 p.m. on tonight at .
  • Why Go: Parent’s take the night off, while your kids spend the night out.  The second annual Monster Mash Bash offers games, hauntingly amazing crafts and, as always, a showing of a family favorite movie.  This season’s pick is, “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
  • Cost: $16. Kids ages 6-12 welcome, pre-registration is required, spots are limited.

 

  • Where/When: 6-8:30 p.m. on tonight at in the Health Education Center.
  • Why Go: Little ghouls and goblins will have a safe place to haunt this Friday at Pierce College Fort Steilacoom. The free Halloween Extravaganza will feature family-friendly games, a costume contest, face painting, cotton candy, popcorn, and more.
  • Cost: Free.
