Have You Taken The Disaster Preparedness Survey?

Can the Japan earthquake and ensuing catastrophe happen here?

Maybe it can. Maybe it can't.

The bigger question - and the one that the City of University Place hopes residents will help answer - is whether people are ready for such an emergency.

The city posted a survey on its website that will help its public safety commission gauge how prepared residents really are for disaster. The commission plans to include the survey's findings in a presentation.

It doesn't take too long to fill out, and actually asks some interesting questions, such as, "Do you believe your household is prepared for seven days in the event of a disaster?"
