Jon Kitna, Rainiers To Speak At Camp

NFL quarterback and Tacoma native Jon Kitna will be one of the featured speakers at a baseball camp next month at Curtis High.

The Summer All Skills Baseball Camp, which runs from July 13-15, will also feature Tacoma Rainiers players Mike Wilson and Alex Liddi.

University Place's own Aaron Trolia, a former Seattle Mariner and Washington State University star, is presenting the sessions through his instructional camp, AT Baseball. 

Trolia, who recently began working with the, said he wanted to bring players with professional, real-life experience that can help players grow, both on and off the field.

Kitna, a former star at Tacoma's Lincoln High, has played for four NFL teams, including the Seattle Seahawks. Today, he plays for the Dallas Cowboys. In 10 games last year, he threw for 2,365 yards and 16 touchdowns.

As far as Wilson and Liddi, camp-goers will get an autograph session if time allows.

*Instructors have played at the highest levels of college and/or professional baseball and have the unique teaching abilities to relate to players on successfully and consistantly applying the proper physical mechanics and mental maturity to constantly make the needed adjustments. 

Camp focus: Throwing/pitching/hitting/fielding/baserunning/catching and camp scrimmage game 

Dates: July 13th, 14th and 15th 

Location: Curtis High School Baseball Facility - 8425 40th Street West

Ages: 7yrs-11yrs from 9am-12:30pm 12yrs -18yrs from 12:30-4pm 

Cost: $175 pre-register per player or $200 day of. Call for group sign up $150 per player if signing up with 5 or more players
