Lost Pup Found At University Place Whole Foods

The dog was found over the summer, but its caretakers are still searching for the owners.

UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA - A dog found wandering near the University Place Whole Foods over the summer is still orphaned, and its caretakers are trying to track down the owners. The dog, which appears to be a Shih Tzu, was found last July along Bridgeport Way.

The dog was recently transferred to another local resident in early January. Another person had been fostering the dog since it was found on July 24.

According to caretaker Cheryl Faircloth, the dog is about 10 years old and might be hearing impaired. The first foster parent tried to find the dog's owners, but no one came forward. The dog does not have a microchip.

"She will stay with me until owners are found and is welcome here as part of our pack, I will not be re-homing her," Faircloth wrote in a Facebook post. "The original finder had posted when she was found, 61 shares of her post and no owners came forward. I am starting from scratch to try and cover all the bases of protocol."
