Major I-5 Ramp Closure Near Tacoma Dome Delayed
A closure of a ramp connecting Route 7 to northbound I-5 has been pushed back indefinitely.

TACOMA, WA - State transportation officials have pushed back a major closure of an on-ramp near the Tacoma Dome as part of improvements to I-5 through the Tacoma.
The month-long closure of a ramp connecting northbound Route 7 to northbound I-5 was supposed to happen on Wednesday. That closure would have cut off traffic traveling from the eastern sections of Tacoma to I-5.
The delay is weather-related, and the state has not yet rescheduled the work.

Also this week, construction crews will begin shifting lanes along I-5 near SR 16 in preparation for HOV lane construction. Driver should expect to see narrower lanes through area and intermittent night lane and ramp closures, state officials say.
