Meet Brittany Bibby, The Glue of UP Parks And Rec
Our perennial parks and rec columnist also tells Patch that the department established a Facebook page, which will help them communicate better with users.

After a few weeks on hiatus, I'd like to bring you yet another member of the team: Brittany Bibby.
Her role as administrative recreation specialist is critical to the success of the programs. Brittany grew up in UP, graduated from , then spent a number of years working for the YMCA in Tacoma. She worked in the administrative and program systems of this organization. However, she always wanted to work in University Place. So, in 2007, she was able to obtain a position with UP’s recreation department.
Brittany is the glue that keeps it all together in the department. She knows where everything is or where to find it. If someone needs an answer, she is the one with, or at least who will find the answer. She knows the people using the programs and, more importantly, they know her.

This week the department will go live on Facebook. People will be able to join UP recreation's Facebook wall. Updates, new and old programs, changes and notices will be almost instantaneous. Brittany is the face behind UP’s Facebook. Using the site for this type of information will be a great milestone for the city. It should be of great value to the recreation department and the program participants to be able to manage and obtain current information about an array of current and new programs. Get on the “Wall.”
