New Takata Airbag Recall: Check If Your Car Is Involved

A new Takata recall announced Thursday involves popular Puget Sound area brands like Audi, Subaru, and Tesla.

UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA - A new recall involving Takata airbags was announced Thursday, and includes vehicles from manufacturers that are extremely popular in the Puget Sound area.

Thirteen automakers issued recalls over Takata airbag inflators, which can explode and spray shrapnel when activated. The automakers include: Mazda, Subaru, Tesla, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Mercedes, Nissan, Jaguar-Land Rover, McLaren, Karma, Mitsubishi, and Daimler Vans.

In total, some 650,000 vehicles are affected by this latest recall. That's on top of the 5.7 million vehicles that have already been recalled by 19 automakers in the U.S.
