Man Fleeing Police Hit, Killed In I-5 Wreck
A 27-year-old Wapato man was killed attempting to cross the freeway.

TACOMA, WA - A Wapato man was killed Thursday night attempting to cross I-5 at 48th Street on foot. James Lagmay, 27, was struck by a 2004 Nisaan Murano driving southbound. Lagmay was later pronounced dead at Tacoma General Hospital.
Police listed the cause of the crash as pedestrian attempting to cross the freeway and noted that no charges are expected to be filed.
I-5 was closed for more than two hours following the wreck. KOMO News reported that the pedestrian was fleeing from police when he was hit.
