Playground Build Week Upcoming; Volunteers Still Needed
Crews from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, as well as uber-volunteer John Heinzinger, are preparing the site near the North Meadow of Chambers Creek Properties. Build week is Sept. 20-25.

Hollywood sports cliches aside, the group is preparing for its , when volunteers will construct the structure at Chambers Creek Properties.

Linda Bird, University Place's former mayor and one of the biggest proponents of the project, says volunteers are prepping the site near the North Meadow area for the big build.
Already, a group from Joint Base Lewis-McChord's 864th Engineering Bridgade drilled the first holes for posts.

However, the Playground by the Sound effort is still looking for volunteers to help build. Patch is going to be there, as well as others in the community.
