Southbound Interstate 5 Lane Closures Scheduled For Monday in Tacoma
The closures are required so crews can repair a bridge expansion joint.

On Monday night, motorists using southbound Interstate 5 will encounter multiple lane closures through downtown Tacoma for bridge expansion joint repairs.
At 10 p.m., Sept. 9, Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will close two southbound I-5 lanes for the three-mile segment between Portland Avenue (milepost 135) and South 38th Street (milepost 132).
At 11 p.m., they will close a third lane, reducing southbound I-5 to one lane. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10. This work will not affect the southbound I-5 exit to South 38th Street.
