University Place Double Murder Suspect Held Without Bail
The suspect was set to appear in Pierce County court on Tuesday.

UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA - The Pierce County Sheriff's Department has arrested one suspect in the University Place double murder that occurred last month.
The suspect is facing two first-degree murder charges and will make an initial appearance in court this afternoon. The 21-year-old will be held in jail until an arraignment set for Friday, according to court records.
Wilberth Acala, 22, and Adrian Valencia-Cuevas, 19, were found dead in a Dodge Charger along the 6200 block of 63rd Street West. Both men were shot in the head. The shooting happened sometime before 5:30 a.m. on May 14. Surveillance images captured two suspects running from the scene of the crime.

A resident of the neighborhood noticed the two victims slumped over in the car and thought they were asleep. Police believe the killings might be related to a drug deal gone wrong.
