University Place Girl, 11, Injured By Dad's Heroin Syringe

The girl found her father unconscious, and then accidentally stabbed herself with his heroin needle, according to reports.

UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA - An 11-year-old University Place girl accidentally stabbed herself with her father's heroin needle this week, according to a Q13 report. The father later died of a heroin overdose.

The incident happened Tuesday morning at the Hillside Glen apartments, according to Q13. The father was babysitting the 11-year-old and twin 4-year-olds. The girl found her father unconscious in the bathroom. She tried to shake him awake, which is when she came into contact with the needle.

The girl was taken to a hospital for medical care.
