University Place Library To Host Computer Classes, Book Sales

The end of the year will be busy for the local branch of the Pierce County Library System.

People will find great buys and help support library services during upcoming used book sales.

Sales will offer a great variety of materials for all ages and interests, including hardback and paperback fiction and nonfiction, children’s books, cookbooks, reference books, audiobooks, music and movies. Residents donated used books, CDs and DVDs for the sale. Funds from the book sales will help the Friends sponsor events for children and adults as well as furnishings and other needs at the libraries.

, the sale is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Oct. 16, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Dec. 10.

Learn the basics of computers, email, the Internet as well as Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and Word. Explore downloadable e-books, audiobooks and music at the library, and find resources for job searching, travel planning and conducting market research. Register for classes at a Pierce County Library or sign up on the Library’s online calendar @ www.piercecountylibrary.org/calendar.

  • Word 2007 for Beginners, Wednesday, Nov. 30, 1 – 2:30 p.m.

  • Downloading Music, Thursday, Dec. 8, 4 – 6 p.m.
  • Downloading E-Books and Audiobooks, Tuesday, Dec. 13, 5 – 6:30 p.m.
  • Job Search Resources, Wednesday, Dec. 14, 4 – 6 p.m.
  • Computers for Beginners, Thursday, Dec. 15, 6 – 7:30 p.m.
