University Place Man Dies In Crash Along SR 16
The 35-year-old was walking along SR 16 when he was hit late Thursday night.

TACOMA, WA - A 35-year-old man from University Place died late Thursday night when he was hit by a car while walking along SR 16.
Joshua D. McKay was walking eastbound in the middle of SR 16 just before midnight when he was hit. The driver, Ronald Laik, 55, of Auburn, was not injured in the crash.
The crash happened near the SR 16 intersection with Orchard Street in Tacoma. Investigators did not know why McKay was walking in the highway, according to Washington State Patrol spokeswoman Trooper Johnna Batiste. The crash was still under investigation as of Friday morning.

Eastbound SR 16 was closed for an investigation until around 4 a.m. Friday.
