VIDEO: Dejected DaVonte Lacy Chats With Patch Following WSU's Loss in the Pac-12 Tournament

The former Curtis High star and All-Freshman Pac-12 Honorable Mention sulked at his locker after the Cougars lost to Oregon State, 69-64 on Wednesday.

LOS ANGELES-Even in a silent Washington State University locker room, the space surrounding DaVonte Lacy somehow seemed quieter than the others.

The usually witty Lacy - who established himself as one of the Pac-12's top freshman this year, including an Pac-12 All-Freshmen Honorable Mention - had a lifeles face.

He, along with the rest of his Cougar teammates, saw their Pac-12 season end Wednesday with a 69-64 loss to Oregon State in the opening game of the Pac-12 Tournament at the Staples Center.

Thrust into a starting role early in the season because of injuries to other Cougars, Lacy learned and adapted to college basketball under fire this season. He became one of WSU's most prolific threats from behind the arc, as well as one of its top on-ball defenders.

Still, he refused to attribute any success to the season.

Why? It was simple.

"We didn't win," he said flatly.

WSU will now hope to get an invitation to the College Basketball Invitational, although an early round exit in L.A. will not help its cause.
