VIDEO: University Place's Tierra Crockrell Receives Custom Spikes From Olympian Brittney Reese

I know we just wrote about the now 11-year-old track-and-field phenom from University Place.

But I just had to share this. It's an e-mail from Tricia, s mom, about an unforgettable trip her daughter recently made to Oregon. Read on:

For Tierra's birthday, she wanted to go to the Prefontaine Classic at Hayward Field in Eugene. It started off with Tierra winning a free ticket on Facebook! Out of 350 people, 20 were drawn to get a ticket ... lucky Tierra won one.

We get to the meet, and she gets to watch the women long-jumpers and her friend Brittney Reese. After the meet Brittney surprises Tierra by giving her her custom long jump spikes. How amazing is that?

It only continues to get better as the meet goes on. Tierra gets autographs from all the USA athletes who won. Not only did she get their autographs, she got their bibs: Brittney Reese, Justin Gatlin, Allyson Felix, Sanya Richards-Ross, Wallace Spearmon and Reese Hoffa. How lucky is that?

She took pictures with Ashton Eaton and Reese Hoffa as well.

Then to top off the weekend, she competed at the Portland Track Festival on Sunday. She somehow forgot to bring her spikes and had to use Brittney's. She broke the meet record jumping 15' 9", not her best jump but her spikes were a little big for her. She also PR'd in the 100m and 200m. Running 12.86 in the 100 and breaking the meet record in the 200m with a time of 26.05. All in all an amazing birthday weekend for Tierra.
