VIEWFINDER: University Place Recognizes Tony Panagiotu, Curtis Lacrosse Team

Panagiotu was recently honored with the 2012 Milgard School of Business' Small Business Leader of the Year Award. The lacrosse team lent plenty of elbow grease during Parks Appreciation Day.

University Place honored a local business leader and a high school sports team on Monday night for making the community, simply put, a better place to live.

First, the city recognized and commended local business leader Tony Panagiotu, who was recently honored with the 2012 Milgard School of Business’ Small Business Leader of the Year Award.

Panagiotu, founder and president of Panagiotu Pension Advisors, Inc., "invested his knowledge, energy and personal assets to create employment opportunities for others in the community," and "has built his business reputation on ethical dealings with clients and professionalism," according to the city.

University Place leaders also recognized the efforts of the Curtis boys lacrosse team, which for the past seven or so years has helped clean up parks on Parks Appreciation Day.
