WA State Trooper Injured In Crash By Sleepy Driver
The crash happened early Friday morning along I-5 near Tacoma.

FIFE, WA - A Washington State Patrol officer was injured in a car crash Friday morning. The crash happened along I-5 in Fife around 6:30 a.m. The crash happened along the shoulder in the vicinity of 54th Avenue East.
The trooper suffered lacerations and back and neck injuries, according to Washington State Patrol, but is expected to be OK. According to South King Fire and Rescue, the crash involved three vehicles, and two people were taken to the hospital.
The driver apparently fell asleep behind the wheel before the crash, hitting the deputy, who was pulled over for a traffic stop, according to KOMO News.
