Washington Contemporary Ballet Comes To University Place
WCB brings to the community pirouettes, tutus, dance and an elegant addition to UP's creative culture.
University Place is now home to the Washington Contemporary Ballet, and you can help welcome the organization.
From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, the nonprofit group will be holding an open house to celebrate its move from Tacoma to UP at its new location: 8315 27th Street West.
The mission of WCB, according to its website, "is to represent the best that our community has to offer through the artistic expression, promotion and development of dance."

Classes are available for children, teens and adults alike to develop their skills in classic dance, flamenco, tap and jazz alike. For 23 years, WCB has taught dance and coordinated performances in an effort to contribute to the creative culture of our community. As a nonprofit, it absolutely depends on class and show attendance as well as donations and sponsorship of the very community it is providing the invaluable services for.
So on Saturday, you can tour the new facility, munch on hamburgers, hotdogs, chips and other refreshments while the kiddies enjoy the bouncy house and games for the afternoon.
