West Pierce Responding to Collapsed Roof at Allied Ice in Lakewood

West Pierce Fire and Rescue responded to a roof collapse at 2:51 p.m. at Allied Ice, 9625 32nd Avenue SW in Lakewood

One of the workers described hearing something tapping on the roof. Snow and the roof immediately came crashing in. Three employees were in the building and evacuated.

There were no reported injuries to employees or firefighters, according to Hallie McCurdy, assistant fire marshal.

The building—located near 96th Street and South Tacoma Way—was marked off.

McCurdy said it was the first roof collapse West Pierce has responded to today.
