Worthington Announces Launch of Campaign Website

From University Place City Council candidate Steve Worthington:

Steve Worthington, candidate for University Place City Council Position 3, announcedΒ today that he has launched his campaign website. Visitors will be able to read more information about whyΒ Steve is the most qualified for the job.

β€œI am in a position to understand the needs of both the residents and business owners in University Place. As aΒ resident for over 12 years, former small business owner and public servant, I have a unique understanding of allΒ sides of local government,” said Worthington.

Steve was in the restaurant industry for a number of years, both in management and as the owner of twoΒ restaurants, before moving into public service. He served as the Community Development director for the CityΒ of Fife for 6 years before the City Council chose him to be the City Manager, a capacity he served in from 2005 – 2011. He also served as Economic Development Director for Ritzville, Deer Park and Cheney.

β€œAfter retiring, I still felt the desire to serve and wanted to make a difference for the city I call home,” saidΒ Worthington. β€œAs I have been talking to folks at their doors and at community events the last few months, myΒ belief that people want fresh leadership with experience outside of UP is confirmed. A new, knowledgeableΒ perspective to deal with the city’s growth and budgetary constraints will make a difference.”

β€œI know that we can provide a better experience for residents and business owners when working with localΒ government. There are great opportunities for University Place and I will make sure we’re making the smartΒ decisions to take advantage of them,” concluded Worthington.

Residents are encouraged to visit www.Worthington4UP.com to read why Steve is the most qualified candidateΒ for City Council and also visit the Contact page to ask any questions they might have.
