Save the date on your calendar for
the first annual Celebration of Lavender
and Art in the beautiful Sammamish Valley.
Four locations between Woodinville and Redmond will present special
festivities on Saturday and Sunday, July 13th and 14th.
Entry to the farm venues is free.
Visit Dr. Maze’s Farm for lavender picking, crafts, classes, demonstrations, and more. Fun activities for kids and adults include hayrides, animals, mazes, and the opening of Dr. Maze’s Lavender Labyrinth. Enjoy lavender lemonade and teas. Watch the distillation process, as well as cooking with lavender in the Dutch Oven demonstrations. Open both days, 10 to6. For more information, see www.Dr.MazesFarm.com
Enjoy lavender treats while U-pick at Woodinville Lavender’s farm and store just south of the roundabouts in the Woodinville Hollywood District. Take your time at Woodinville Lavender to learn about growing at the Master Gardener Lavender talk Saturday at 12:30 pm. See the cooking demonstration at 2 pm, create lavender wands from 11:30 to 3pm, and see the lavender distillation process. Woodinville Lavender will be open Saturday from 10 to 6 and Sunday from 11 to 5. More information about the farm and store can be found at www.WoodinvilleLavender.com.
Apple cider tasting is happening at the Minea Farm store. A variety of different apple ciders, including a fresh pressed lavender apple cider is available on Saturday from 11 to 5 and Sunday from 12 to 5. While you are cider tasting, ask Lee and Vanda about the 100 year old cider press. Don’t forget to try the lavender fruit leather and lavender applesauce. And you can take home some apple butter, apple slices, farm eggs and local honey. Lee and Vanda Minea can be contacted (425) 883-1286.
Don’t miss the extensive lavender and perennial gardens that surround three beautifully renovated Woodinville homes at Apple Farm Village. Linger in the courtyard wine garden and do some wine tasting at three highly acclaimed wineries, Lauren Ashton Cellars, Otis Kenyon Wines and Zerba Cellars. Experience fine art paintings by local artists in the “Art on the Fence” exhibit in the courtyard at Apple Farm Village. See artists in action painting throughout the weekend and special demonstrations by sculptor Tim Schriever on Saturday from 1-4 and ceramic potter Robert Moreno on Sunday, from 1-5. Enjoy lavender lattes and lavender Italian sodas at Chateau Espresso, and peruse lavender products on the porch at Gretchen Scott Salon.
