Centennial Bonfire in Redmond Set for Dec. 30
The event will include marshmallow roasting, a luminaria and live musical performances. Redmond was incorporated as a city on Dec. 31, 1912.
Redmond is inviting residents to take part in a once-in-a-lifetime celebration on Dec. 30, as Woodinville's neighboring city caps a year of centennial-related events with a special community bonfire.
Redmond wasΒ incorporated as a city on Dec. 31, 1912, when the birth of Ernest Alexander Adams brought the town's population to 300βthe number required by state law. Since then, Redmond has grown to a city of 17 square miles with 54,144 residents.
The Dec. 30 bonfire will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at theΒ Redmond City HallΒ campus,Β 15670 NE 85thΒ St. The event will feature live music, free coffee samples and a special centennial luminaria display. (S'mores kits will be available to purchase for $2; proceeds benefit the Redmond Kiwanis Club.)
