Chateau Ste. Michelle Wins "2013 Pacific Northwest Winery of the Year"

Woodinville's Chateau Ste. Michelle has done it again – this time taking top honors as Wine Press Northwest Magazine's Winery of the Year.

Calling it the one wine that carries the message of Washington wine to the world, it is the first time the magazine has named Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery of the Year. It's also apparently the last, as a winery can only win the accolade once.

Chateau Ste. Michelle conveyed their excitement and did a little bragging about it recently on their Facebook page:

Woohoo! Exciting news! Chateau Ste. Michelle earned Wine Press Northwest Magazine's "Winery of the Year!"

The article about the winery showcases its history and profiles Bob Bertheau, Ste. Michelle’s head winemaker and Wendy Stuckey, white winemaker, among others.

It also says although Ste. Michelle makes more than 1 million cases of Riesling per year, its winemakers are quick to say they produce other wines, from Cabernet Sauvignon to Chardonnay. Last fall at the Wine Press Northwest’s Platinum Judging, Ste. Michelle won six Platinums: four for Riesling and two for Cabernet Sauvignon.
