Course Description
Have you always wanted to know more about gardening but did not know where to start? Does going to the nursery make you inspired but leave you overwhelmed about what things to buy? Have you tried gardening in the past but didn’t have the successes you had hoped for? This class will teach you how to turn your yard into productive garden spaces that flourish.
If getting started is overwhelming, we can help you have the garden you’ve always wanted. This class is scheduled just in time for you to achieve beautiful results this season.

Expert Faculty
Dr. Elizabeth (Beth) Wheat, is an expert in sustainable
farming, biology and the environment. Dr. Wheat teaches urban farming at the University of Washington where she helped to establish the UW student farm. We are pleased to host Dr. Wheat and share her wealth of experience with our students.
Enrollment & Registration
In order to take our courses students must first enroll in
the 21 Acres School as a student. Enrollment is $45 for a two year period. Enrollees receive advance notice of class availability and on occasion special discount offers on classes. There are three ways to register; online at http://backyardfarmingmay2012.eventbrite.com, by

Membership
Join 21 Acres and save — Fees are discounted for members for most courses and classes by 10%, 15% or 20% depending upon membership level.
21 Acres Certificate
This course qualifies for our Sustainability Stewardship Certificate. Enroll, register for this class and receive credits towards your certificate.
