A 90-minute informational class on straw bale construction. Curious about building with straw bales in the northwest? Straw is plentiful in this region, and straw bale walls are beautiful, energy efficient, and natural. With good planning and basic care, they can last for centuries. The history and the details will be covered and there will be plenty of time for questions. Instructor Terry Phelan, architect and founder of Living Shelter Design, empowers her students with awareness based on many years experience focused on truly sustainable housing solutions. Class will be held in the temporary classroom/construction trailer.
