Karaoke for Kash FUNdraiser for Seattle's Walk to Defeat ALS

Karaoke for Kash at the Cookhouse in Woodinville (next to the post office, behind and attached to the Indian Palace facing the railroad tracks)

The ALS Association's Walk to Defeat ALS is Saturday Oct. 1st. in Seattle. The Rock Out ALS Team is doing everything it can to not only bring the LARGEST Team, but be the Highest Earning Team for the second year in a row.

Rock Out ALS's Founder, Mad Mike will be at the Cookhouse in Woodinville the night before the walk, Friday Sept. 30th to sing WHATEVER you want as long as it's in the Cookhouse's song book or if you bring your own CDG Disk.

Here's how it will work:

Normal Karaoke will still be going on. You can choose a song and offer to donate a certain amount for Mad Mike to sing that song. The harder, more embarrassing or absurd the song...the more it will cost.

Example:

  • "I'm a Little Teacup", complete with the "dance" will cost around $20.00
  • Carol King's "I am Woman" will cost a minimum of $35.00
  • "I touch Myself" by the Devinyls will be about $30.00+
  • Anything from Brittney Spears will Cost Ya!
  • Anything from Rocky Horror will start at $5.00...Except for "Hot Patootie" which should be at least a $10.00+ donation because it's so hard.
  • Anything Mad Mike already knows will be $1.00 - $5.00
  • Duet's with Mad Mike will cost $5.00 or more depending on the song.

Here's your chance to make Mad Mike "Die" on stage, or at least make him look as silly as possible. The Cookhouse is a fun joint with good drinks and great Indian Food.

All money raised will go to the Evergreen Chapter of the ALSA for Research and Patient Support.

ALS, better known as Lou Gehrig's Disease is a 100% Fatal Motor Neuron Disease. It interrupts the brain's ability to communicate with the body's Voluntary Muscle Functions leaving a fully thinking and emotional brain trapped in a paralyzed body. Average Life Expectancy is 2 - 5 years from Diagnosis. 5000+ people are diagnosed in the US and 5000+ people die from it in the US each year. 30,000 people are living with it at any given time. These numbers pale to Diabetes, Cancer and MS, therefore the amount of money given towards research and awareness is limited in comparison. It costs $200,000.00 a year to live with ALS, which forces 40% of families dealing with it into poverty.
