WOODINVILLE
REPERTORY THEATRE PRESENTS US PREMIERE OF “THE ACTRESS”
Woodinville, Wash. – Woodinville
Repertory Theatre will present the first American production of a new comedy by
renowned British playwright, Peter Quilter. “The Actress,” directed by Steve Cooper, tells the story of a
theatrical legend at the pinnacle of her career. She has been theatrical
royalty, more revered than Helen Mirren, Meryl Streep or Cate Blanchett. As the
play opens the actress’ longing to live a life off the boards has led her to
announce her retirement from the stage. This is to be her final performance.
She wants to go out in the proverbial blaze of glory but what she hasn’t
counted is the mayhem that ensues when her brooding daughter, her needy agent,
her fiancé and even her ex-husband, all show up and begin wreaking havoc.
