Local vet starts house call practice

August marked the opening of a new veterinary practice run by Dr. Aja Senestraro which brings veterinary care to pets with house calls. Called Sea to Sky Holistic Vet, the practice aims to provide personalized, high quality, low-stress care for pets at home. Services include Wellness exams, vaccines, acupuncture, massage, aging pet care, hospice and in-home euthanasia. Dr. Senestraro will make house calls anywhere between Mount Vernon and Federal Way.

“It can be challenging and stressful to get your pet into a vet clinic,” says Dr. Senestraro. She explains, “I wanted to bring high quality veterinary medicine to pets at home, where I can take my time to get to know the pet and the owner in a stress-free environment.” Sea to Sky Holistic Vet blends conventional Western veterinary medicine with Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine techniques such as acupuncture, massage and herbal medications to create a unique Wellness plan tailored to each pet. Dr. Senestraro explains, “Holistic medicine looks at the whole animal and tries to treat underlying problems, not just the symptoms of disease. Many people are seeking out holistic medicine for themselves and are looking for holistic options for their pets as well.”

Dr. Aja Senestraro is the owner and veterinarian at Sea to Sky Holistic Vet. She opened the Monroe based practice in August, 2014 and plans to continue as a house call only practice. Dr. Senestraro graduated from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine and is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist. She has training in Traditional Chinese Medicine which she combines with conventional Western veterinary medicine to provide the best possible medicine for her patients.
