The Washington State Lottery Commission sent out a media alert Monday that people were lining up to buy tickets for Tuesday's drawing in the hopes of winning the $363 million jackpot.
βThere is always excitement about big jackpots over $300 million, so we are encouraging people to buy their tickets early,β said Lottery Director Bill Hanson in the press release.

Since 1982, Washingtonβs Lottery has generated more than $2.5 billion to support important state programs including theΒ Washington Opportunity Pathways Account. Money in the Pathways Account goes toward helping students achieve their higher education dreams and supports early childhood education learning programs, according to lottery officials.
