UPDATE: Public Hearing on Growing Medical Marijuana in Woodinville Tuesday
Council already passed the moratorium on allowing medical marijuana "collective garden" within city limits, Tuesday is the public's opportunity to speak on the issue.

No one showed up to speak at the public hearing on theΒ moratorium on marijuana collective gardening atΒ theΒ Tuesday, Oct. 4.
The council passed a six-month zoning moratorium on Aug. 9 that prohibits the licensing, establishment, maintenance, or continuation of any medical marijuana βcollective gardenβ within city limits.Β Β
The councilβs action was in response to amendments passed in this yearβs legislative session to Washingtonβs existing medical marijuana law.Β The amendments, as contained inΒ Engrossed Second Substitute Senate Bill (E2SSB) 5073, went into effect July 22, 2011.Β According to the amendments, a medical marijuana βcollective gardenβ is an area or garden where qualifying patients engage in the production, processing, transporting, and delivery of marijuana for medical use as defined in a 1998 state law (RCW 69.50).Β Β
