Standoff In Woodinville Draws Massive Police Response

If you heard a helicopter and lots of sirens Tuesday night in Woodinville, it was this standoff.

WOODINVILLE, WA - Woodinville deputies and multiple other police departments were involved in a long, tense standoff Tuesday night. King County's Guardian 1 helicopter responded to the scene, as well as King County's SWAT team, Tac 30.

Around 11 p.m., Woodinville deputies tried to pull over a suspect in the downtown area on an outstanding warrant. He drove toward the deputies in reverse, and then drove away from the scene, eventually abandoning the car. He nearly ran into one deputy.

Meanwhile, a woman in a nearby apartment contacted police and said that suspect was her brother, and he was hiding in her apartment. She didn't know where in the apartment he was. She had to communicate with police by texting her boyfriend in Texas, who in turn spoke to local officers.
