Woman Escapes Rural Duvall Home After Kidnapping

The woman was kidnapped near Everett and brought to a home in a rural area east of Woodinville along the Snoqualmie River.

DUVALL, WA - A woman who was kidnapped near Everett early Sunday morning was taken to a home in a rural area near Duvall and assaulted before she was able to escape and contact police. That led to an hours-long standoff between the King County SWAT and hostage negotiation teams and the suspect.

The woman was kidnapped around 2 a.m. Sunday, police said, and brought to a home along the 20200 block of West Snoqualmie River Road, which is north of the central Duvall area. The woman was taken there by a former romantic partner; the man, age 20, allegedly assaulted her inside the home.

Around 6 a.m., the woman was able to escape the home and steal the suspect's car. The woman told police that her attacker was involved in a shooting earlier in the day in Snohomish County, and that he was still armed with a gun.
