Woodinville Arborist Demonstrates Tree Pruning Saturday

Tom Quigley, arborist and member of the city's Tree Board, will be demonstrating pruning techniques for Japanese Maples at City Hall.

, will demonstrate pruning techniques for Japanese Maples and other trees on Woodinville's municipal campus from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, April 28.

will be in attendance as well to answer questions about the City’s Urban Forestry Plan. The Tree Board isΒ the city’s group of resident volunteers and staff that meet to plan and protect the city’s tree canopy, according to staff liaison, Hal Hart.

Specifically, the board is tasked with upholding theΒ City's Urban Forestry PlanΒ adopted in 1998. This program develops standards for the maintenance and management of Woodinville's urban forest to ensure preservation of the Woodinville's northwest woodland character.

The demonstration is free and the event will start at the flagpole at . This is the last event of the city's 2012 Arbor Day celebrations.
