Woodinville Riding School Holding Winter Break Camp for Kids

Hillcrest Training equestrian school is holding winter break camps for children of all skill level with camps for kids 5 to 13 years.

Horse enthusiasts or budding athletes or kids just looking to have fun on the grey days of winter can find what theyโ€™re looking for at Hillcrest Trainingโ€™s Winter Break Camp, according to owner Heidi Snider Evans.

The camp is for riders 5-13 years old. All activities will be supervised and there is a maximum of 10 children per session. Riders will be grouped together according to their riding ability, she said.

Each day riders will be taught new skills that will help them develop a better understanding of horse care. Lessons include:

  • Tack and equipment care
  • Grooming
  • Braiding and wrapping basic first aid
  • Anatomy of the horse

In addition to the equestrian training, campers will make equine inspired arts and crafts, have a stall decorating contest and a mini horse who at the end of camp. Two sessions are offered, Dec. 19, 20, 22 from 9:30 am.m-3:30 p.m. and Dec. 26, 27, 29 from 9:30 am.m-3:30 p.m. Cost is $15-$375. Before and after camp care is available for an additional $15.
