• Ibrahima Diallo breaks Olympia single-game rushing record in rout of Yelm (yelmonline.com) — Yelm High School's football team fell 64-15 to Olympia after a power outage in town pushed the game to Saturday, when Olympia's Ibrahima Diallo set a school rushing record. Yelm still put up two touchdown passes and now looks to regroup before visiting Bethel on Friday night.
• Thurston Chronicle launches as hyperlocal weekly newspaper (chronline.com) — Yelm readers will see even more Thurston County coverage as CT Publishing launches the new weekly Thurston Chronicle while keeping Nisqually Valley News in Yelm as the county's official paper of record. The expanded newsroom will share staff and deepen reporting on Yelm, Rainier, Roy, McKenna and the rest of Thurston County's communities.
