Today's riddle: What do an island and the letter "t" have in common? 🤔 (Answer below!)
• Proposed Valley Link transmission line raises concerns in Kanawha County (wowktv.com) — Kanawha County residents packed a Charleston commission meeting to protest the proposed 250-mile Valley Link transmission line from John Amos Power Plant to Maryland, fearing local impacts but learning county authority is limited. Commissioners and Del. Mike Pushkin said state law now centralizes decisions in Charleston, leaving locals seeking ways to influence the project before any formal application is filed.
• Landslide Triggers Emergency in West Virginia County (ntd.com) — A landslide in Mason County, less than an hour from Charleston, prompted a state of emergency after flood-driven erosion crept within two feet of a railroad line. Governor Patrick Morrisey's order follows earlier flooding and a recent city emergency in Charleston, with officials warning that more erosion could threaten infrastructure, schools, and travel across the region if not stabilized quickly.
• Hall's AEW Collision Review – 9.19.26 (411mania.com) — Fans at the Charleston Coliseum got a packed night of AEW Collision action, from Darby Allin's wild TNT title defense to a hard-hitting main event featuring Jon Moxley. While the show mainly advances national wrestling storylines, it also spotlights Charleston as a regular stop for big-league pro wrestling, giving local fans a front-row seat to major feuds.
